Shoreline's new city hall is under construction. Matt is very interested in the progress, and he knows that will be where the mayor's office is.
Today, as we passed the building site, he said, "I would like to have a conversation with the mayor."
Me: "What about?"

The finished guest room. Jim and subcontractor Uncle Kreamo hung a new set of mirrors and Jim hauled up the end tables from the basement. Add a rug and voila! Less junky, more inviting and funky.
The fireplace had a big ugly device ("heatilator," Uncle Kreamo called it) that was supposed to circulate heat from a fire. All it did was blow soot, from the looks of the hearth, and drive me NUTS. It turned out to be a little more work than anticipated to take the whole filthy thing out. It involved a hammer, a screwdriver, scissors and a flashlight. But now the living room is irritation-free.

Las Vegas is celebrating the Lunar New Year (and attracting tourists) with displays dedicated to the new year.
The Palazzo featured a golden ox; appropriate as the ox is a prosperity sign. Who couldn't use a little prosperity?
