When you pour coffee down the drain, this is what happens....
New haircut, new trains

Home improvement(s)
The finished guest room. Jim and subcontractor Uncle Kreamo hung a new set of mirrors and Jim hauled up the end tables from the basement. Add a rug and voila! Less junky, more inviting and funky.
The fireplace had a big ugly device ("heatilator," Uncle Kreamo called it) that was supposed to circulate heat from a fire. All it did was blow soot, from the looks of the hearth, and drive me NUTS. It turned out to be a little more work than anticipated to take the whole filthy thing out. It involved a hammer, a screwdriver, scissors and a flashlight. But now the living room is irritation-free.
Another Roadside Attraction
The Teapot gas station (defunct) in Zillah, WA

We'll always have Paris (Las Vegas)
I think Paris is one of the most photogenic casinos on The Strip. Tres bien!
And The Venetian.
For the educational component of our tour...
We visited the Atomic Testing Museum at the Desert Research Institute.
Year of the Ox
Las Vegas is celebrating the Lunar New Year (and attracting tourists) with displays dedicated to the new year.
The Palazzo featured a golden ox; appropriate as the ox is a prosperity sign. Who couldn't use a little prosperity?
The Bellagio went for a topiary ox, made of 1,000 live plants.
Vacation hair hell
Soft water, dry air, no product, Mel's hair. Bad combination. No wonder I look unhappy.
